BE ELIGIBLE FOR CREDIT

 

By attending a virtual CE class, you agree:

1. to be on time
2. to be recorded
3. to be on camera, visible, engaged, and in a stable and classroom-like environment. (no traveling, walking around, no phone calls or other distractions)
4. to not use a Zoom background (blurring is okay)
5. to attend only one continuing education class at a time; participation in more than one class at a time will result in denial of credit for all classes
6. that GCAAR reserves the right to decline to issue credit if not in compliance.

COMPLIANCE

Before class:

1. Verify that you have access to Zoom.  For the best learning experience, GCAAR strongly encourages you to attend on a computer.
2. YOU MUST COMPLETE A STUDENT IDENTITY AFFIDAVIT for each virtual CE class you attend
3. Test that you have a functioning webcam, as you must be visible throughout the entire class (no exceptions)
4. No Zoom backgrounds will be allowed (blurring is okay).
5. After the class has started GCAAR staff will be monitoring therefore they will not be able to provide technical support.

 

During class:

1. Log in 15 minutes early to check your system in the virtual waiting room prior to being admitted by GCAAR staff, as:

• Maryland does not offer a grace period; attendees must be in class at the time it starts
• The District of Columbia offers a 10-minute grace period
• Virginia offers a 15-minute grace period

2. In order to earn any credit for attending your virtual REALTOR® Fest classes, you must do the following, per real estate commission rules:

• Be ON TIME.
• Have a functioning webcam and be visible for the entire class. No Zoom backgrounds will be allowed (blurring is okay).
• Be engaged in the class at all times – NO EXCEPTIONS – Prohibited activities include but are not limited to the following:
  • Operating or riding in a vehicle or machinery
  • Attending any other appointments including medical appointments, beauticians, etc.
  • Performing any inappropriate acts that your classmates may find disruptive such as bathing, dressing, exercising, etc.
  • Sleeping
  • Walking around
  • Talking on the phone or using your phone to do other work
  • Having outside conversations
• Attend only one continuing education class at a time: participation in more than one class at a time will result in denial of credit for all classes.
• Match your name on your Zoom screen to the name on your real estate license.
• Have completed the online student identity affidavit for this virtual CE class via the link provided above.

3. During this session, GCAAR monitors are unable to provide technical support, as they are actively monitoring the class.
4. Conduct & Professionalism 

• All attendees are expected to maintain a high level of professionalism throughout the duration of any GCAAR continuing education (CE) class, whether held in person or virtually. 
• Disruptive, disrespectful, or inappropriate behavior toward instructors, staff, or fellow attendees may result in removal from the class, loss of CE credit, and potential further action at GCAAR’s discretion. 

 

OTHER HELPFUL INFORMATION

 

Cancelling a class

If you would like to cancel your registration for a specific class during REALTOR® Fest, you must do so via your account on the website. Simply log in to your GCAAR account at gcaar.com – My Account. Once you click the green “Registered” icon under “Calendar,” you will be able to see each class or event you are registered for. Click on “View” for the specific class/event. On the next screen, click the blue “Registration Cancellation” button and then “Submit Cancellation” on the following screen.

 

GCAAR staff does not perform cancellations nor transfers for specific classes. For registrants who wish to change to another class, GCAAR advises cancelling the first class and registering for the second class – this is also to be completed online.  Please note all cancellations and new registrations must be done by 4pm the day before the class.

 

Adding to calendar

You can directly add the Zoom link to your calendar by logging into to your GCAAR account at gcaar.com – My Account. Once you click the green “Registered” icon under “Calendar,” you will be able to see each class or event you are registered for. Click on “Add to calendar” for the specific class/event to select your calendar type (Apple, Google, Android, Outlook) and download the file. Open the downloaded file to access the calendar appointment with the needed information to add to your calendar.
